JUNIORS ROUND 12 REVIEWS

Another busy weekend with all 5 JPL teams in action, the U14s had the most work to do pulling double duty on Friday and Sunday. Click here to read all about it!

MINIROOS ROUND 11 REVIEWS

A slightly quieter weekend for the MiniRoos with two of the U8 teams taking Father’s Day off. However, the other 11 teams were in action, with U10 White backing up Sunday’s efforts with a trip up to Gawler on Tuesday evening. Click here to read all about it!

PRESENTATION DAY – SUNDAY 11th OCTOBER

We can announce that the end of season Presentation Day for Juniors and MiniRoos teams will take place at Taperoo Reserve on Sunday, 11th October. The schedule for the day is still to be determined and will depend on what Covid restrictions are in place at the time. At this stage, we anticipate that we will have to stagger the presentations throughout the day.

TEAMS PHOTOS – MONDAY 14th SEPTEMBER

A reminder that the remaining team photos are taking place this coming Monday at Taperoo. All players are to wear their full home strip and boots. Coaches are to wear polo shirt, black trousers and black shoes. U6s and U7s will be taking both individual team photos and one big age group photo, while U8s, U9s, U10s and U13s will be taking their photos with their individual team only.

U10s – 5:20pm

U6s – 5:30pm

U7s – 5:40pm

U8s – 5:50pm

U9s – 6:00pm

U13s – 6:10pm

A reminder to U6s and U7s families that players will be participating in a Mini World Cup over on Pitch 3A after their photos.

SUNDAY CANTEEN

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered in the canteen on Sunday, 6th September.

With only 8 games at Taperoo this Sunday, we should have a quieter day. The teams rostered on for Sunday, 13th September are U9 Black (8-10am) with the U13s and U7 White sharing the load from 10am to close. The last game will finish at approximately 12:00pm. A special note to our very special barista Georgia who is taking a well-deserved weekend off. The very capable Lisa H and Justyna have kindly stepped in to cover the role this week.

Also, a special mention to Marzena who will be our Covid Marshal all morning.

Looking ahead at the final two weeks, we currently have no volunteers for Sunday, 20th September (U14, U15 Girls, U12) while spots are only half filled for the final round on 27th September. Please contact your coach or email Fran to enquire and/or confirm your availability. volunteers@portpirates.com.au

SENIORS UPDATE

The First Team faced promotion rivals Modbury Vista at Taperoo in what was a very even tussle. Unfortunately for the Pirates, the visitors were more clinical in front of goal and ran out 3-1 winners. It doesn’t get any easier for the lads this weekend as they take on the undefeated league leaders Eastern United at Athelstone.

Looking at the Reserves and U18s, Vista are leading both competitions, yet our sides were no pushovers with the Reserves going down 2-1 and the U18s 3-0. Another tough set of games await those teams this weekend against Eastern.

Our Collegiate team had a fantastic weekend, strolling to a 6-0 win over Vipers FC at St Clair. Next up, a home game against North City.

You can find further information on all the upcoming fixtures on our website.

UPCOMING GAMES – SUNDAY 13th SEPTEMBER

Here is the full list of the upcoming games. 10 of our teams are on the road, with both the U15 Girls and U16s travelling all the way to Woodside to take on Adelaide Hills. The U13s season concluded at Taperoo with an early game against Adelaide University.

Best of luck to all of our teams this weekend and as always, please double check the kick-off time on the Football SA website or via the Game Day app.

Kind Regards,

Port Adelaide Soccer Club
