Reserves fall agonisingly short in SL2 Grand Final

Despite throwing absolutely everything at our opponents our boys came up just short in the SL2 Reserves season decider against Adelaide Uni. The first half was a tense affair typical of a Grand Final, however the game sprang to life in the 2nd half with Adelaide Uni taking the lead against the run of play after having a man sent off. Pirates restored parity through leading scorer Connor McGair but just a few moments later, Uni scored what would prove to be the winner with an incredible strike from outside the box. Pirates through everything at the opposition and even missed a penalty in the dying embers of the game.
Despite the result, we couldn't be any prouder of this group of young Pirates for the way they kept on fighting till the final whistle and literally never gave up
