Pirates suffer heartbreaking Finals exit

A gallant Pirates side produced a brave performance against Adelaide Cobras against in their State League 2 Elimination Final contest at Taperoo Reserve, unfortunately falling agonising short. Sammy Sesay put the home side ahead in the first half from the penalty spot however Cobras equalised from a penalty of their own. 1-1 at the break and after a second half stalemate the game went to extra time. Mitch Anderson shot the Pirates back into the lead in the first half of extra time but Cobras responded in the 2nd extra stanza to send the game penalties. In the lottery that is a penalty shootout, unfortunately the Pirates came out on the wrong end of it. Congratulations to Cobras and a massive thank you to everyone who has supported the Pirates Seniors teams throughout the 2019 season.

Our lads and coaching staff now get a well earned rest. The Club wishes to thank them for their efforts this year.
