A 'Call to Arms' message from Peter Murray, Chairman, in relation to upcoming Synthetic or Grass decision for the main pitch at Taperoo.
"Good Day Pirates and Wenches,
After 4 and a half long years the Club's moment of truth is now etched in Blackbeards headstone on December 12th 2017, the Port Adelaide Enfield Council will vote on the new surface for the main pitch at Taperoo.
SO HERE IS OUR CHALLENGE!
All teams from U6 up to the 1st team, training is COMPULSORY and will be held at:
PORT ADELAIDE COUNCIL CHAMBERS
62 Commercial Road, Port Adelaide
Tuesday, 12th December 2017
Assembly at 6.45 for 7pm start
What to bring: Mum, Dad, Brothers, Sisters, Grandmas, Grandpas, Friends and Neighbours.
We need numbers in the gallery (normally we are found in the dock) to make sure the councillors know only one decision can be made and that decision is a Synthetic pitch.
We the executive are lobbying all the councillors and will be until what will be our Waterloo, but now we need you. This decision is about your child(ren) finally having a pitch they deserve and others take for granted.
We are 115 years young we are the OLDEST and PROUDEST club in South Australia and now it is YOUR OPPORTUNITY to take the baton from our forefathers and make YOUR club the envy of every other club in Australia. Are you up for the challenge or do we all walk the plank?
OUR FUTURE IS IN YOUR HANDS
See you all on the 12th
